Serviced Apartments in Cala Ratjada

On the north east coast of the holiday island of Majorca is Cala Ratjada, a well-established port and seaside resort. This holiday town is about 80 km away from the island's international airport and the one and a half hour transfer will take you through the heart of the Balearic countryside. Arriving at your Cala Ratjada apartment rental you'll be presented with gorgeous golden beaches and beautiful blue sea.

Originally a sleepy fishing town, the tourism industry has built up since the 1960s but there is still a working port providing fresh seafood for the local restaurants. Cala Ratjada is translated as the ‘Bay of Rays’ and this attractive name gives a good indication of how the sunshine sparkles off of the Mediterranean Sea. Almost all holiday rentals in Cala Ratjada provide gorgeous sea views and the neighbouring island of Minorca is often visible on clear days.

The resort is slightly unusual in as much as you will find different types of holidaymakers visiting at different times of the year. During the traditional summer season, the resort is mainly populated by Brits, Germans and, unusually, quite a number of French tourists. In the off-season of October to April, the resort and holiday apartments in Cala Ratjada tend to fill up with an older generation of tourist, staying for several weeks on end.

The coastline beside the resort is known for being quite jagged and therefore has lots of smaller beaches and sandy coves in which to sunbathe and explore. The main beach is called the Son Moll and is certainly the busiest during the height of the tourist season. As a whole, serviced apartments in Cala Ratjada are not tremendously well suited for those with small children in tow as the sea tends to become quite deep quite quickly.

Another beach, by the name of Cala Gat is also popular with tourists staying in Cala Ratjada holiday lettings but is even smaller than Son Moll. If you want to go to a little extra trouble, the beaches of Cala Guya, Cala Mesquida and Cala Agulla are a little bit more out of the way and will guarantee you some extra space.

In the town itself you'll find all of the facilities and amenities you would expect such as supermarkets and convenience stores. There are also entertainment and dining options with restaurants, bars, night clubs and tavernas in the same areas as short term apartments in Cala Ratjada.

Serviced and self-catered apartments, flats, holiday lets and aparthotels can be up to 30% cheaper than most equivalent hotel rooms and are becoming increasingly popular due to the freedom they offer. Whether it’s a short stay apartment you are looking for or a long term apartment, our holiday apartments combine all the amenities and comforts of home.
