Ukraine

Ukraine is a former territory of the Soviet Union found in the east of Europe bordering the Russian Federation, Belarus, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Moldova. It also has a significant amount of Black Sea coastline which is home to many of the country's most important cities. Out of a total population of 46 million people, 2.8 million reside in the centrally located capital city of Kiev. Even for those visitors heading to the Black Sea resorts, the capital is still worth a few days sightseeing being home to the striking Saint Sophia Cathedral and hugely impressive Monastery of the Caves.

Even for the more southern resorts, the typical summer months of June to September still provide the best weather, with average high temperatures being between 20 and 26°C. Many of the finest serviced apartments in Ukraine are found in the larger cities but there are also great accommodation options to be found in the smaller towns. In 2010, 21.2 million visitors arrived in the country, many of which no doubt to experience the beautiful mountain landscape of the Crimea, a peninsula in the Black Sea, and southernmost point of Ukraine. Wherever you go in Ukraine, you're certain to find a feature of the country to your liking.
