Serviced Apartments in Colonia Sant Jordi
Found on the Balearic Island of Majorca, Colonia Sant Jordi is a small beach resort on the south east tip of the island. About an hour's drive away from the island's main city of Palma (and the Son Sant Joan International airport) this resort town has become more popular recently as it is somewhat quieter than many of the better-known resorts on the island. Serviced apartments in Colonia Sant Jordi fill up quickly for the summer period, but are also available all year round. Although normally referred to as Colonia Sant Jordi, the town is sometimes also called Port de Campos and is situated in the municipal district of Ses Salines. There is a very small local community of around 5000 locals, most of whom work in the island’s tourist industry. Being ideally located on the coast of the Balearic Sea, virtually all apartment rentals in Colonia Sant Jordi come with beautiful views and fantastic access to the beaches. As this small town is very much a new development on the island of Majorca, the people staying in Colonia Sant Jordi holiday apartments will generally have made a concerted effort to avoid the crowds. Quieter and more understated than virtually all of the other towns, cities and resorts on the island, Colonia Sant Jordi gives you an opportunity to see a beautiful part of the island before it becomes too popular. For this reason, it is also a good idea to hire a car as the resort is not great for public transport. A lovely day trip to take from your Colonia Sant Jordi self-catered apartments or serviced accommodation is to the nearby island of Cabrera. The name of the island translates as Goat Island and is the location of a national park. A small ferry leaves the Colonia Sant Jordi fishing harbour every morning during the summer period and it will not take you long to have a look around as the island is only 4 miles x 3 miles in size. The island was historically home to pirates, the Napoleonic Navy and prison ships and there is a good information centre to visit. There are a number of excellent beaches to spend your time on; the most central being Sa Platja des Port which is very close to the fishing harbour and marina. There are also a number of other beaches to the east and west of town such as Es Trenc and Es Carbo, both of which are easily accessed from any holiday rental in Colonia Sant Jordi. Serviced and self-catered apartments, flats, holiday lets and aparthotels can be up to 30% cheaper than most equivalent hotel rooms and are becoming increasingly popular due to the freedom they offer. Whether it’s a short stay apartment you are looking for or a long term apartment, our holiday apartments combine all the amenities and comforts of home. With plenty of room why stay in a cramped hotel room when you can stay in spacious surroundings in and around Colonia Sant Jordi. From budget serviced apartments, through to mid range and luxury serviced apartments in Colonia Sant Jordi, compare prices and get an instant booking confirmation at CityCentreApartments.com
