Serviced Apartments in Úbeda

Úbeda is a modestly sized town of 35,000 people located in the southern Spanish community of Andalusia. Most famous in Spain for being the home of numerous excellent examples of 16th century Renaissance style palaces, the town is most often visited by those wishing to enjoy the architecture. Tourism is not the chief industry of the local economy but nevertheless, there are numerous holiday apartments in Úbeda to enjoy during your stay.

Undoubtedly the most popular and impressive landmark of the city is the enormous Vázquez de Molina Square. This square is one of the country's very best examples of Spanish Renaissance architecture; so much so in fact, that UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 2003. There are a selection of impressive palaces and churches surrounding the square and if you make one sightseeing trip during your stay in a Úbeda apartment rental, this should be it.

Among the most important buildings in the square is the Deán Ortega Palace, a 16th century palace now being used as one of the oldest luxury hotels in Spain. Another important palace is the Vázquez de Molina Palace or Palace of the Chains due to previously having elaborate chains hung from it as decoration. There are also two wonderful religious monuments; the Saint Mary of the Royal Alcázares and the Holy Chapel of the Savior. The square is in the southern part of the city and the walk from Úbeda
city centre (center) apartments is delightful.

When Úbeda was designated a World Heritage Site in 2003 it was together with the nearby town of Baeza. This town is about half the size of Úbeda but is a very popular day out as it is also full of remarkable Renaissance era architecture. The trip will take about 20 minutes from Úbeda serviced apartments but is definitely worth it, especially if you're visiting the area expressly to view its historical architecture.

There is a popular phrase in Spain regarding the city; andar por los cerros de Úbeda translates as 'to walk around the hills of Úbeda'. Although this saying is meant metaphorically, meaning to go off on a tangent, it comes from the nature of the area's countryside which is known for its hilly terrain. Either my rental car or on foot, take some time to explore the hills and small mountains of the Sierra de Cazorla, before retiring to your Úbeda short-term apartment with a bottle of sangria and some tapas.

Serviced and self-catered apartments, flats, holiday lets and aparthotels can be up to 30% cheaper than most equivalent hotel rooms and are becoming increasingly popular due to the freedom they offer. Whether it’s a short stay apartment you are looking for or a long term apartment, our holiday apartments combine all the amenities and comforts of home. With plenty of room why stay in a cramped hotel room when you can stay in spacious surroundings in and around Úbeda city centre.
