New Zealand

New Zealand is a well-known tourist destination in the Pacific Ocean but many people do not visit the country due to its geographic location. Along with its political and geographic neighbour Australia, the country is a long trip away from Europe, the USA and most other countries with sizeable numbers of tourists. However, New Zealand is certainly worth the trip, having one of the most diverse landscapes and ecosystems in the world. The original inhabitants of New Zealand, the Maoris, have retained their cultural and political influence on the country although they now only make up about 15% of the 4.5 million population.

Tourism accounts for about 10% of the country's industry and about 2.5 million tourists a year visit the country. As well as the city sights of Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown etc. there is an abundance of natural wonders such as the Bay of Islands, Milford Sound and several glaciers. The climate of the country varies from the humidity of the north to the colder, snowy south and pretty much everything else in between. This leads to serviced apartments in New Zealand being found in all kinds of landscapes, and with all types of activities to enjoy. The country is well known for being the home of extreme sports with bungee jumping and skydiving particularly well promoted.
