Saudi Arabia

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the largest country in the Middle East and home to about 25 million people. Due to its vast oil reserves, Saudi Arabia is an enormously wealthy country and has a lot of clout in world economy. Despite being a very business oriented country, there is also a successful tourism industry and excellent infrastructure to be used by business people and tourists alike. Arabic is the only official language but due to the number of Western companies located in the country, English is also widely spoken. The capital city, Riyadh, is located quite centrally and is an excellent starting point being full of both old and modern landmarks.

As with most of the Middle East, Saudi Arabia has a very hot climate with the average temperature across the year being almost 27°C. Seven months of the year see average highs of well over 30°C making this a country best visited during the winter months for those who are not too good with the heat. Serviced apartments in Saudi Arabia are of a very high standard and are available in the religious cities of Jeddah, Mecca and Medina as well as the capital. The monarchy of Saudi Arabia is very much Islamic in focus and so visitors should certainly brush up on their Muslim etiquette before arrival.
