Bulgaria

The Republic of Bulgaria is found in the south-east of Europe, mainly bordering Greece and Turkey. The Mediterranean climate draws many tourists each year and there is also a successful ski industry in the country. 1.5 Million of the country's 7.5 million population resides in or around the capital city of Sofia; home to the Royal Palace and many other sights. The east of the country is dominated by its Black Sea coastline with holiday resorts such as Varna and Burgos becoming ever more popular. In total, almost 9 million people a year visit Bulgaria for a holiday.

Generally speaking, unless you are visiting to enjoy the skiing on offer, the best time to visit is from June to September to enjoy the Mediterranean summer. Typically, the temperate climate produces cold winters and hot, sunny summers. Serviced apartments in Bulgaria are well located all over the country to cater for city, seaside, ski and country breaks. The official language is of course Bulgarian, but English is becoming increasingly more widely spoken in the country, especially in the more tourism oriented areas. Not everybody’s first choice for a holiday, but an excellent option to consider.
