Serviced Apartments in Tarragona

If you leave the famous city of Barcelona and drive south along the coast for about 65 miles you will reach the picturesque and historic city of Tarragona. Capital of the province of the same name, the city has a population of roughly 160,000 people and is responsible for a metropolitan population of almost 700,000. Popular with tourists looking for both culture and beach relaxation; holiday rentals in Tarragona are plentiful and of high quality.

Another way to travel to the city is by flying into one of the increasing number of international flights landing at Reus Airport, a hugely convenient 5 miles away. Arriving in the peak season months of July or August you are almost certain to be faced with temperatures in the mid-20 degrees Celsius. However, holiday apartments in Tarragona are popular all year round with the temperatures being at least comfortable from April through to October.

If you are heading to the beach to make the most of this weather you will be pleased to know there are a number of Blue Flag beaches along the city's coast. Also, just five miles away from Tarragona city centre (center) apartments is the PortAventura theme park. This is the most popular such attraction on the whole of Spain and sees 3 million visitors a year. In total there are 30 rides to enjoy in the park including six rollercoasters and three water rides. This is certainly enough to keep even the most energetic of children happy for the day.

On a more cultural note, the city is host to the UNESCO recognised Roman ruins of Tarraco - the Roman name for the city. These are some of the most impressive and extensive Roman ruins in the whole country, including a second century amphitheatre. Also easily visited from Tarragona self-catered apartments or serviced accommodation is the Aqüeducte de les Ferreres (aka Pont del Diable - the Devil's Bridge). Almost 250 m long and 27 m high, this is a truly spectacular landmark just 4 km outside the city.

There is also a wonderful selection of religious buildings in the city; especially the cathedral which dates to the mid-13th century. There are several convents worth visiting, one of which is now the town hall and includes an information centre. If going on a day trip from your Tarragona aparthotel, set off towards the Royal Abbey of Santa Maria de Poblet; a 12th century monastery about 30 miles inland.

Serviced and self-catered apartments, flats, holiday lets and aparthotels can be up to 30% cheaper than most equivalent hotel rooms and are becoming increasingly popular due to the freedom they offer. Whether it’s a short stay apartment you are looking for or a long term apartment, our holiday apartments combine all the amenities and comforts of home. With plenty of room why stay in a cramped hotel room when you can stay in spacious surroundings in and around Tarragona city centre.
