Egypt

The Arab Republic of Egypt is a very famous country in the north of Africa and has some of the most remarkable historical landmarks in the world. Chief of these, of course, are the Giza pyramid complex and Great Sphinx which are to be found on the outskirts of the capital, Cairo. This great city has a population of about 7 million people and is many people's first stop on a holiday to the country. Luxor is also a very famous tourist destination due to its Valley of the Kings and views of the River Nile. With an abundance of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Egypt is a history and culture lover’s dream.

The majority of the country's 80 million population live on the banks of the River Nile; either employed in the tourist industry or farming the surrounding land. An alternative Egyptian destination is Sharm El Sheikh at the bottom of the Sinai Peninsula. Many tourists book serviced apartments in Egypt to stay in this famous resort city and make use of its world-famous reputation for scuba-diving and watersports. Egypt is an excellent holiday destination all year round with temperatures averaging about 14°C in the winter up to 30°C in the summer.
