Japan

Japan is a hugely historical and complex country in the Pacific Ocean equally known for its traditional customs and high-tech society. Despite being a country made up of almost 7000 islands, 97% of the 127 million population live on the four main islands of Honshū, Hokkaidō, Kyūshū and Shikoku. Many visitors go no further than visiting Tokyo; the capital city of the country and home to over 30 million residents in the metropolitan area. The city is also home to the Imperial Palace and has been described as one of the most liveable cities in the world. Other sights in the capital include Tokyo Tower and the Tokyo National Museum and the city is overlooked by the famous Mount Fuji.

Other regions and sights of Japan are also popular including the ski resorts of Okinawa, Shrines and Temples of Nikkō, the ancient monuments of Kyoto and the castles of the southern province of Kyushu. Serviced apartments in Japan are some of the most modern in the world and the south tends to have the more temperate weather. Snow is certainly not uncommon in the winter and the summer months bring average temperatures in the mid-20s Celsius. There is perhaps no other country in the world with so much ancient history, and such a modern approach to city living.
