Poland

Centrally located in the continent of Europe, the Republic of Poland is bordered by Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania and also the Baltic Sea to the north. Being so centrally located, the country is popular with European visitors but is also seeing an increase in the amount of international visitors arriving from overseas. Warsaw is capital city to this nation of 38 million people and is home to some excellent museums and stunning palaces and churches in a variety of styles. By far the most developed city in the country, Warsaw has an excellent infrastructure and the best serviced apartments in Poland.

Poland has a distinct summer period from May to September with temperatures tending to be around 20 to 24°C. Freezing temperatures and snow are not uncommon during the winter making the country generally better for summer travel. Outside of the capital, there is some beautiful Polish countryside in and around the Tatra Mountains and Białowieża Forest. The latter of these is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to wild European Bison, Europe's heaviest land mammals. There are also many other very interesting smaller towns and cities to visit such as Wrocław with its stunning town hall, and Malbork Castle, one of the largest castles in the world.
