Luxemborg

Luxembourg is a small, landlocked country centrally located in Europe between Belgium, France and Germany. Officially, the country is known as the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and it is the last of this type of sovereign state in the world. By size, Luxembourg is the seventh smallest country in all of Europe and has a population of just over half a million people. Despite its small size, the country is a very affluent and successful nation, having the world's highest GDP per capita and is home to many successful European business people. The three official languages of the country are French, German and Luxembourgish - a German dialect unique to the country.

From a tourist point of view, the typical European summer months of June through September bring the best of the weather, with average temperatures reaching about 20°C. Luxembourg City sees the majority of tourists, but the cities of Esch-sur-Alzette, Differdange and Dudelange are all interesting destinations to visit. Outside of the cities, serviced apartments in Luxembourg are also available in the smaller towns and are excellent bases from which to enjoy areas of natural beauty. In the north of the country is the Ardennes, an area of rolling hills, larger peaks and impressive forests and a fantastic region to be enjoyed on foot.
