Mexico

Mexico is often the forgotten country of North America with the United States and Canada tending to receive more international attention. However, it is hard to overlook a country of 112 million people and the 13th largest nation on the planet. The official language of Mexico is Spanish and this is a country with huge cities, vast history, beach resorts, desert and tropical areas. The climate varies wildly depending on which part of the country you are visiting, from baking heat to snow topped mountains. With so much to see in the country, the tourism industry is very successful and sees well over 20 million visitors each year.

Mexico City is the capital with a population of almost 9 million permanent residents and over 20 million in the area. Originally founded by the Aztecs some 700 years ago, the city is now a big-city-lover’s dream being full of shopping arcades, restaurants, bars and amusement parks. Many of the country’s famous beaches are also hugely popular such as Acapulco and Cancún and many of the finest serviced apartments in Mexico are found on the coast. Of course, Mexico’s incredible selection of Meso-American ruins is also hugely popular with tourists and a trip to the country is really not a complete without at least a day of ancient sightseeing.
