Serviced Apartments in Sagunto

Being only about 20 miles north of Valencia on the north-east coast of Spain, for many, Sagunto is no more than a day trip during their stay in that famous city. However, this town of 66,000 residents has a lot more going for it than just one day of sightseeing deserves. With over 2200 years of history, Sagunto is one of the most culture and history packed towns in Spain and well worthy of a visitor's attention. There are numerous holiday rentals in Sagunto to cater for those who come to explore the history of the area.

Sometimes referred to as the ’City of Ruins’, Sagunto is located approximately 5 miles back from the coast on somewhat hilly terrain. The town has an impressive collection of Roman archaeology and architectural remains including the Citadel, looking down upon the town as a whole. Much of the ramparts and old walls are still in evidence, and there is an excellent information centre available in town documenting its history. A serviced apartment in Sagunto will also give you the opportunity of visiting the Roman theatre, still used to this day; it was Spain's first ever officially recognised national monument.

There are also more recent architectural sights to see, such as the Esglèsia de Santa Maria (St Mary's Church), found in the main square of the town. Built in the traditional Gothic style, it is surrounded by other historical buildings and nearby to the Palau Municipal (City Palace), now used as the town hall. Whereas most of the holiday apartments in Sagunto are found in the modern part of the city, it is an easy stroll to wander into the old town and enjoy the Juderia (Old Jewish Quarter) with its narrow streets and lanes.

Apart from the obvious day trip to Valencia, Castellón de la Plana (the capital of the Castelló region) is only a 35 minute drive away, and Benicàssim is only about five or 10 minutes further north than that. The latter of these two towns is famous for its annual international music festival. Just inland from your Sagunto holiday letting is the Parc Natural de la Serra Calderona, a wonderful national park full of excellent walking trails and typical Spanish flora and fauna.

Of course you also have the option of travelling to the beaches of the Costa del Azahar, just a few miles away. From here you can take sightseeing trips out into the Mediterranean Sea, or simply lounge around on the beach catching a sun tan.

Serviced and self-catered apartments, flats, holiday lets and aparthotels can be up to 30% cheaper than most equivalent hotel rooms and are becoming increasingly popular due to the freedom they offer. Whether it’s a short stay apartment you are looking for or a long term apartment, our holiday apartments combine all the amenities and comforts of home. With plenty of room why stay in a cramped hotel room when you can stay in spacious surroundings in and around Sagunto city centre.
