Vietnam

Vietnam is a nation of 90.5 million people in the south-east of Asia. It shares borders with China, Laos and Cambodia and also has a long coastline on the South China Sea. Since the 1980s the government has been attempting to reinvent the country, improving international relations and the economy, making the country a more viable tourist destination. Vietnam’s most important two cities are Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Hanoi is the capital and has a population of 6.5 million while Ho Chi Minh City is the most populous in the country with 7.3 permanent inhabitants. Both of these cities provide plenty of history and culture and are very popular with visitors to the country.

Outside of the cities, many of the 3 million annual tourists visit the many national parks and sites of natural beauty of the country. Serviced apartments in Vietnam also provide access to a wonderful collection of historical temples, palaces and citadels as well as over half a dozen UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The weather to expect in Vietnam is pretty consistent all year round; with the temperatures tending to be hotter the further south you go, up to about 30°C. The wettest months however are from May to October, again especially in the south.
