Serviced Apartments in Cádiz
Being one of the oldest cities in all of south west Europe, Cádiz is a Spanish city with an abundance of historical interest. The city has a very unusual setting, being founded on a narrow spit of land almost completely surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. Served by Jerez International Airport about a 45 minute drive away, serviced apartments in Cádiz are easily reached and the city is seen as a year-round destination. The city is comprised by various quarters (barrios in Spanish) most notably El Populo, La Viña, and Santa Maria. These quarters are in the older part of the city and are full of interesting winding alleyways leading to grand open plazas. This is of great contrast to the modern areas of the city which have large open thoroughfares and of course, more modern looking buildings. Most holiday apartments in Cádiz are found in the modern parts of the city but the old town is easily accessible either on foot or public transport. The most famous and beautiful of the squares in the old town is the Plaza de Mina. Dating back to the early 19th century, the plaza is lined by trees and has a number of interesting statues to be viewed. The Museum of Cádiz is also to be found on the edge of the square and has a wonderful array of historical artefacts documenting the city's three millennia of existence. Despite having a population of about 130,000 people, it only takes about 15 minutes to walk from one end of the city to the other, and so all attractions are easily reached on foot from apartment rentals in Cádiz. Another popular landmark is the Cádiz Cathedral which is located in the Plaza de la Catedral along with the smaller Church of Santiago. The current Cathedral is a reconstruction of a 13th century version which burned down in 1596 but is still a grand and impressive building. Due to taking over 100 years to build, the cathedral has aspects of rococo, baroque and neoclassical styles of architecture. Also visit the Plaza from your Cádiz serviced accommodation to view the Church of Santiago, an excellent example of baroque work from the 17th century. These are just a few of the sites to be seen in the city and booking a Cádiz holiday rental provides you with a very unusual and unique Spanish city. There is an awful lot packed into this narrow stretch of land. Serviced and self-catered apartments, flats, holiday lets and aparthotels can be up to 30% cheaper than most equivalent hotel rooms and are becoming increasingly popular due to the freedom they offer. Whether it’s a short stay apartment you are looking for or a long term apartment, our holiday apartments combine all the amenities and comforts of home. With plenty of room why stay in a cramped hotel room when you can stay in spacious surroundings in and around Cádiz city centre.
