China

The enormous country of China is steeped in almost 4 millennia of continuous history and is a modern day industrial giant. China is very much a country of two sides; its history and culture is undeniably rich, and its modern day development as a global powerhouse is staggering. Generally speaking, the geography of China ranges from the mountainous regions of the west to the lower lying land of the east. Despite a population of over 1.3 billion people, many are surprised to learn that there are still sparsely populated areas.

The capital, Beijing, is found in the north east of the country and is home to almost 20 million people in the area. Another very popular city is Shanghai on the east coast and these are the two most common arrival points to the country. As China's tourism economy grows, serviced apartments in China are becoming popular all over, not just in the larger cities. During the summer months of June to September, temperatures often reach above the 30°C mark but the climate varies across the huge country. With an abundance of countryside, huge cities, technology, history and culture to view and enjoy, China has taken its place as one of the world's top tourism hotspots.
