Serviced Apartments in Portopetro
Portopetro is a small fishing port and beach resort on the south-east coast of Majorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands. About 35 miles across the island from the international airport, it will take about an hour to travel to your holiday apartment in Portopetro upon arrival in Majorca. As you reach your destination you will be greeted with the beautiful Mediterranean coastline and quiet beach you have been dreaming of since making your booking. So small is this town (village really) that the permanent population is just 500 or so, increasing greatly during the traditional summer months as the many tourists arrive. Many new holiday rentals in Portopetro have recently been built to accommodate the growing number of visitors arriving each year. Most of the accommodation overlooks the resort beach which is a quiet and secluded affair, certainly not the overcrowded variety found in the larger resorts. Open all year round, the resort has many locally owned restaurants serving traditional Spanish food and fresh seafood from the Mediterranean Sea. These local tavernas are not only for tourists but also enjoyed by the locals; usually a great indicator that the quality of cuisine and service is very high. Being a small resort, the serviced apartments in Portopetro are very close to the beach and the restaurants, bars and shops in the town itself. As you would expect from a resort in the Balearics, the climate is typically Mediterranean with average summer temperatures hitting 30°C. Apartment rentals in Portopetro tend to be busiest from June to September as this is when the best of the weather is experienced. The average sea temperature is also very warm during the summer, just a few degrees below the air temperature at the time. Watersports and scuba-diving are popular in the resort and there are a number of companies offering equipment hire and lessons. Much of the evening entertainment takes place along the harbour, where many of the bars, bistros and restaurants are located. It is certainly enjoyable to watch the sunset from a harbour side restaurant while nibbling on some tapas and enjoying some local wine. As previously mentioned, many of the short-term apartments in Portopetro overlook the sea and have wonderful views in the evening, great for when you prefer to watch the sun go down with a little more privacy. Not being one of the busiest resorts of the area, it is also very family friendly. Serviced and self-catered apartments, flats, holiday lets and aparthotels can be up to 30% cheaper than most equivalent hotel rooms and are becoming increasingly popular due to the freedom they offer. Whether it’s a short stay apartment you are looking for or a long term apartment, our holiday apartments combine all the amenities and comforts of home. With plenty of room why stay in a cramped hotel room when you can stay in spacious surroundings in and around Portopetro.
