Serviced Apartments in Breña Baja

Breña Baja is a municipality on the east coast of La Palma, one of the famous Canary Islands. Rather than being a city in its own right, Breña Baja is a collection of small towns comprising of about 5000 permanent inhabitants. Whereas historically fishing, farming and wine production have been the most prominent industries, tourism has now become the most important economic factor in the area. This is somewhat due to the number of high-quality apartment rentals in Breña Baja being built over the last few years.

The international airport of La Palma is found just minutes away from the towns and beach resorts of Breña Baja making this location extremely convenient. Holiday apartments in Breña Baja are spread throughout the municipality but one of the most popular is El Sirocco, which is the location of the Playa de Los Cancajos Beach resort. This tourist resort is the second largest on the island of La Plama after Puerto Naos, which is located on the opposite coast.

The capital of the island and by far the largest city in the area is Santa Cruz de La Palma; with a population of about 17,000 people, it is only about a 10 minute drive along the coast. A serviced residence or self-catered apartment in Breña Baja is a great location for visiting many towns in the area, both seaside towns and those further inland. Even a trip to the opposite coast only takes about 40 minutes by car, giving you an indication of the small size of the island.

Despite being off the coast of Africa, the average temperature for the area is only in the low to mid 20s Celsius during the traditional summer season. Of course, being much closer to the equator than virtually any other European holiday destination, the temperature is actually very stable all year round. You can even feel free to book serviced accommodation in Breña Baja during the winter months as even then the temperature averages about 17°C.

Wandering around the various towns of Breña Baja you will often chance upon the plazas (town squares) which are commonplace. It is typically in these squares that the locals choose to socialise and eat small meals during the mornings and evenings. Of course, with this being a Spanish territory, the afternoon siesta is still common when locals retire for an afternoon nap. Perhaps you will do the same in your Breña Baja holiday rental.

Serviced and self-catered apartments, flats, holiday lets and aparthotels can be up to 30% cheaper than most equivalent hotel rooms and are becoming increasingly popular due to the freedom they offer. Whether it’s a short stay apartment you are looking for or a long term apartment, our holiday apartments combine all the amenities and comforts of home.
