Serviced Apartments in Son Bou
Son Bou is a village and beach resort on the south coast of Minorca, one of the Balearic Islands. Located in the Alaior region of the island, the resort is known for its long expanse of sandy shoreline, beautiful blue seas and a good selection of accommodation options. In fact, given the diminutive size of the village, there are a surprising number of excellent holiday rentals in Son Bou available. The beach is certainly the main attraction for tourists to the area, actually being the longest continuous stretch of sand on the island. The beach is some 3 km long and is covered in golden sands with three beach bars providing refreshments all day long, and well into the evening. All of the serviced apartments in Son Bou are overlooking the beach, many of the more exclusive complexes having your own designated sections. The beach itself is not only spacious but a safe beach for bathing and swimming. This makes the resort very popular with families and those travelling with small children. The surrounding areas of sand dunes and wetlands are cordoned off; being part of a protected nature reserve. It is still possible to visit the reserve, and it has many species of beautiful birds to view, as well as indigenous flora and fauna. Son Bou holiday lettings are generally surrounded by the Balearic countryside of the area. It has to be said that holiday apartments in Son Bou are also popular with the naturist community. Many European tourists come here to enjoy a section of shoreline which has been unofficially designated as a naturist beach. This section is the furthest away from the main resort beach and naturists do tend to respect the more conventional tourists also enjoying the sun, sea and sand. In the resort itself, there are plenty of bars and tavernas serving both Spanish and international cuisine. The popular Spanish dish of paella is particularly commonplace here, even being served by the beach bars during the day. There are also plenty of takeaways with everything from Chinese to British food available; due to the large number of British tourists staying in Son Bou self-catered apartments and serviced accommodation. Generally considered a summer destination, there is also plenty of entertainment for children, including a giant maze and playgrounds to enjoy. On a cultural note, the remains of a fifth century Christian basilica are one of the highlights of the area. Serviced and self-catered apartments, flats, holiday lets and aparthotels can be up to 30% cheaper than most equivalent hotel rooms and are becoming increasingly popular due to the freedom they offer. Whether it’s a short stay apartment you are looking for or a long term apartment, our holiday apartments combine all the amenities and comforts of home. With plenty of room why stay in a cramped hotel room when you can stay in spacious surroundings in and around Son Bou.
