however, this is one place definitely worthy of a visit. Very intriguing.

Villa Atma was once home to famous composer Karol Szymanowski and has been returned to it’s former glory, just as it would have been in Karol‘s day, and opened as a museum. The exterior of this wonderful wooden house is also worth a look.

Brother Albert’s Hermitage is a leisurely walk from your holiday accommodation in Zakopane and this humble wooden structure bears great meaning to the people of this region. It belonged to Brother Albert, a brave man who, during the uprising against the Russians, sadly lost his leg. He later decided to take Holy Orders and set up this monastery to help the poor of this region. This hermitage has become a museum and Brother Albert, who was a keen painter, has some of his works exhibited here. Brother Albert was sainted by the Pope in 1989.
