Serviced Apartments in Warsaw

A city that has seen much sadness and destruction and yet has built itself back up to the vibrant, beautiful Warsaw of today. During WWII Warsaw lost around 80% of it’s architecture but has risen up through the ashes of war with new found glory and is now known as the ‘Phoenix City‘.

Renting a serviced apartment or holiday letting in this region will allow you to explore this proud, strong city and discover it’s history for yourself.

During WWII the city was under Nazi ruling and all the Jewish residents were rounded up and transported to the area allocated as Warsaw Ghetto. The order to annihilate the Ghetto was given by Hitler in 1943 but the Jewish people fought back and held their ground for nearly a month, sadly the Nazis prevailed and the majority were massacred leaving just a few to escape.
After a long and bloody battle what little was left of Warsaw was finally reclaimed by it’s rightful owners where it remains today.

This region is also rich in folklore and according to ancient legend the name of the city comes from the merging names of a fisherman called Wars and his beautiful mermaid wife Sawa, who lived in the Vistula River on which this city is located.

From a serviced residence or aparthotel in Warsaw you can also view and appreciate the many public gardens in this city. Almost half of this region is covered with vegetation and boasts some superb places to explore or just to sit quietly and unwind.
Royal Baths Park provides a real sight for sore eyes with beautiful sculptures, pavilions, a carp pond and resident pheasants and peacocks strutting proudly through the grounds.
Krasinski Palace Garden houses the moving Ghetto Uprising Monument amidst blankets of flowers, ancient trees and a duck pond. Saxon Garden is home to over 100 different species of trees as well as the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. All well worth a visit both for their tranquillity and rich history.

Whilst in this city make sure you visit Warsaw Uprising Museum, a fascinating place that details the vast and varied history of this region as well as it’s fall and look out for The Little Insurgent, a monument dedicated to all the children who so bravely served as troops and messengers during the uprising. An incredibly heart wrenching piece.

For a great place to eat that is within easy access of your Warsaw apartment rental or holiday accommodation there’s Zapiecek Polskie Pierogarnie. Situated in Old Town, this highly recommended restaurant serves traditional Polish cuisine that is really good value for money. There is a vast choice of stuffed dumplings, a Polish favourite, as well as some delicious meat dishes and soups.
