Serviced Apartments in New York

Renting a serviced apartment in ‘The Big Apple’ allows you to experience all the things that New York is famous for from finance and politics, diverse culture, fashion, the arts, notorious rush hour traffic and one of the most recognisable skylines in the world.

As well as the numerous landmarks that are a must see your first time in New York, including The Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, The Empire State Building and, of course, Central Park, there are plenty of other attractions to keep you busy from dawn till dusk and right through the night if you can keep going that long.

Ground Zero Museum Workshop houses a moving collection of remnants and images of the Ground Zero recovery. The photography is by Gary Marlon Suson who was the official photographer for the Uniformed Fire-fighters Association at the site and his images not only capture the sheer devastation and desperation of 9/11 but also the bravery, dedication and camaraderie of the incredible fire-fighters who worked tirelessly along with many volunteers to find as many victims as they could and to make a start on the enormous task of clearing the site.

This is one place you definitely need to visit, it will bring tears to your eyes and the picture painted here is a vivid one but also very beautifully orchestrated. A journey of discovery but certainly not of understanding of this wasteful crime. A poignant reminder of how precious and fragile life is. Please come and pay your respects to all those who lost their lives and all those who lost someone special.

Your serviced residence or aparthotel in New York also gives you access to Ellis Island, the famous Island where immigrants first arrived to start their new lives in New York from the late 1800s and onwards. The museum here gives wonderful documentation on Ellis Island and some of the immigrants that arrived here over the years. An incredible film ‘ Island of Hope, Island of Tears’ is definitely worth watching for a true insight and the exhibits are superb. There were no guarantees when you arrived at Ellis Island that you would be accepted into the country, imagine how it must have felt to be sent back home again with all dreams of a new life dashed. An incredible taste of America’s history.

A fabulous restaurant that is within close proximity of your apartment rental or holiday let in New York is Eleven Madison Park. Here you can enjoy delicious food, superb wines and excellent service in a lovely elegant setting. The lobster lasagne is delicate and divine.
