Serviced Apartments in Braşov

The largest city of the mountain resorts and surrounded by the imposing, southern Carpathians, this wonderful region is an ideal place for renting a serviced apartment or holiday letting, with  access to some wonderful architecture, a delightful ski resort, a Vast natural environment and many traditional festivals.

The Tampa mountain sits slap bang in the centre of the city and you can take a cable car up to it’s summit and enjoy spectacular views of Brasov below. Some of the vast collections of eclectic architecture include the Black Church, Biserica Neagra, which was built in the late 1400s to replace an older church on the same site. It has gained it’s name through being charred black by the great fire in the late 1600s.

The fairytale piece of architecture that is Biserica Sf. Nicolae, St. Nicolas Church, is of beautiful baroque styling, built in the 14th century and boasts numerous, elegant turrets as well as some exquisite frescoes adorning the interior.

Strada Sforii, Rope Street, is the narrowest street in Romania. This slim line passageway is 80 metres long and can get pretty claustrophobic, don’t forget to breath in.

A serviced residence or aparthotel in Brasov also gives you access to the nearby Bran Castle. Known as Dracula’s castle, Bran Castle, situated on a hill between Transylvania and Wallachia, was also said to be home to Vlad The Impaler, however, this is a myth and Vlad probably had little if any connections with the castle. But this is still an exciting and legendary place to visit and is now a museum displaying the collections of Queen Marie, including beautiful furnishings and works of art. At the foot of the castle’s hill you will find an open air museum exhibiting numerous peasant cottages and other dwellings from across the country, a far cry from the imposingly beautiful architecture of the castle and an insight into how the peasant folk of this region lived.

If you are fortunate enough to renting a holiday apartment or self-catered apartment in Brasov in the month of September then you will be able to join in with some of the many festivities this busy month has to offer. There is the International Festival of Chamber Music, The International Opera Festival and The Beer Festival. Plenty to keep everyone occupied and all thirst’s quenched.

For a delightful place to eat that is just a short walk from your holiday let in Brasov take a stroll over to Restaurant Transylvania. Here you can enjoy delicious Romanian cuisine, superb house wine and excellent service. The goulash and sea bream are a real treat.
