Jamaica

The island nation of Jamaica gets his name from an indigenous language and translates as ‘Land of Wood and Water’. This is certainly an apt name for the country as it is fundamentally a tropical island surrounded by beautiful beaches and coastline. Roughly 145 miles in length by 50 miles in width, the country is home to almost 3 million permanent inhabitants and has a successful tourist industry. With almost 1.5 million visitors coming to the island every year, there are plenty of beach resorts in which to sun yourself and relax to the sound of the tide.

Three international airports serve the country and flights arrive from all over the world on a daily basis. The capital city is Kingston Town which is home to one of the largest natural harbours in the world. Many tourists enjoy walking the trails of the Blue Mountains in the east of the island; with views of both the north and south coast and even Cuba to those who make its highest peak. Serviced apartments in Jamaica are available all year round with the weather tending to be hot and humid for most of the year. There is a small danger of hurricanes in the country, but these are well predicted and tend to happen between July and October.
