Serviced Apartments in Hanoi

When renting a serviced apartment or holiday letting in Vietnam’s capital you will be able to experience every aspect of this vibrant, colourful city from it’s rich culture and heritage, impressive architecture, ancient history and tradition to it’s vast green spaces and abundant vegetation. All the makings of a truly memorable vacation.

As with many cities you will nearly always find a historic centre, Old Town or Old Quarter and Hanoi is no exception. Wander round almost 40 streets filled to the brim with stalls selling wonderful produce. If you think this place is buzzing during the day then come here at night when the Old Quarter really comes alive. The night market sets up along the streets and the bright lights reflect in Hoan Kiem Lake creating a wonderful glow. Smells of cooking waft through the air and mingle with the sounds of excited chatter and the clattering of cooking utensils, an incredible atmosphere.

Here you can buy nice pieces of art, lovely crafts and homemade items. You will need to haggle as with everything here and be aware that you will probably still end up being charged more than the locals but you can generally get prices quite low anyway. Whilst you’re here it’s worth trying out one of the Old Quarter’s restaurants, really cheap and deliciously fresh.

Your serviced residence or aparthotel in Hanoi is also within close proximity of The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. This wonderful cultural museum has some amazing open air exhibits featuring traditional huts and dwellings of several different tribes. You can view inside each hut, learn about their construction and the way of life of the different tribes. Here you will get an insight into the diverse ethnic backgrounds of these people and make sure you check out the Bahnar Communal House for some really impressive construction skills.

The indoor exhibits at this museum are also well worth a browse, get to know the customs, traditions festivals and even funeral ceremonies of the tribes people and view traditional clothing, textiles and tools. Make sure you pay a visit to the Craft Link Gift shop before you leave. This fantastic shop sells the works and handicrafts of local artisans which would make the ideal memento of your holiday in Hanoi.

A great place to eat that is just a short distance from your apartment rental or holiday let in Hanoi is Quan An Ngon. Situated in the Old Quarter this establishment is a great way to experience street food within a restaurant. Choose what you would like from the numerous preparation stalls and the stall holders will cook it for you and bring it to your table. Soak up the traditional atmosphere whilst enjoying a fresh and tasty meal. The crab spring rolls are really delicious.
