Serviced Apartments in Milton Keynes

Vast green spaces, rich history, ancient ruins, concrete cows and the Purple Goose, these are just some of the things you can expect to enjoy when renting a serviced apartment or holiday letting in the Buckinghamshire town of Milton Keynes.

A leisurely way to start your vacation in Milton Keynes is with a visit to Willen Lake. This lovely lake is set in a park of some 180 acres and here you will find numerous activities on offer to keep everyone occupied from water sports on the lake to Adventure Golf, Aerial Extreme, children’s play areas and a cute little mini railway to take round the park. Aerial Extreme provides 50 obstacles for all those little adrenalin junkies in the family. Here they can wall climb, ride a zip wire, do air jumps and, if they are brave enough, partake in the 30 metre free fall. There are also feeding stations in the park where the kids can feed the ducks and swans lakeside and why not have fun trying to find your way out of Willen Lake maze, it may be advisable to take a picnic in with you in case you can’t find the exit. The Peace Pagoda is also well worth a look. This lovely pagoda was built by the nuns and monks of the Nipponzan Myoholi and houses sacred items relating to Lord Buddha. A lovely place to just sit and contemplate or spend a while trying to find the door.

Your serviced residence or aparthotel in Milton Keynes also gives you access to the Roman Villa at Bancroft. The remains of this villa sit in lovely parkland and you can clearly see the foundations of what would have been a vast dwelling. These now preserved ruins were discovered in the early 1970s and, along with the interpretation boards, provide quite an insight into the ancient history of this region.

A must see whilst in Milton Keynes are the concrete cows. These poor cows have has their fair share of trauma. A tremulous tale of kidnapping, ransom demands and one poor calf never to be seen again. These lovely cows were created in 1978 by artist Liz Leyh with the help of some local school children and now they stand, permanently poised to graze, in a grassy field that they will never actually get to taste.

A fantastic place to eat that is just a short distance from your apartment rental or self-catered apartment in Milton Keynes is the Purple Goose. Here you can enjoy beautifully presented and flavoursome British cuisine, a really good wine list and excellent service. The belly pork is just delicious.
