Serviced Apartments in Årsta

Not a particularly touristic destination and you won’t find all the usual tourist trappings in this picturesque Stockholm district but a rented serviced apartment or holiday letting in Arsta will provide you with plenty of peace and quiet and an ideal base from where you can explore Stockholm and the surrounding areas.

Take a stroll around Stockholm’s Old City, Gamla Stan, and feel as though you have stepped back in time. Walk the narrow, cobbled streets and admire a mix of beautiful medieval, rococo and baroque architecture. The Royal Palace is also located here and, if you time it right, you can watch the changing of the guard before grabbing a coffee on the waterfront and just enjoying the vista.

A quick ferry ride over to Djurgarden Island will provide an entire day of fun and intrigue. The Skansen open air museum is situated on this island and consists of 150 buildings and dwellings that tell a visual story of how people used to live in Sweden before the industrial era. These buildings have been gathered from all over Sweden and here you will see a diverse mix of architectural styles from different eras. Look out for the reproduction, 200 year old town house where you can watch demonstrations of traditional crafts.

Skansen Zoo is also located on this island and boasts a variety of animals, many of which are Scandinavian. There are also several delightful gardens to take a stroll in, restaurants where you can enjoy a delicious Swedish meal and an aquarium where you can view some fantastic, colourful marine life. An absolutely wonderful day out.

Your serviced residence or aparthotel in Arsta also gives you access to Stockholm’s Vasa Museum. This maritime museum is home to an impressive and somewhat imposing 17th century ship that sank just off the harbour due to an over heavy cargo of cannons. This vast ship is almost completely intact and is an absolutely wonderful piece of craftsmanship. The incredible detail and intricate carving is quite awe inspiring. It would have been quite some sight to see this wooden beauty gliding across the ocean. Sadly this museum is too small to exhibit all of it’s vast collections so many are kept in storage but the storage rooms can be viewed by appointment and this is definitely recommended.

Your self-catered apartment or holiday let in Arsta is not too far from a delightful restaurant situated in Stockholm’s Gamla Stan on the Strommen canal waterfront, the Brannvin Resturang and Akvavitbar. Brannvin, or aquavit as it is also known, is a Swedish liqueur and here you can sample one or two of the 40 varieties they have on offer. Enjoy delicious cuisine, excellent service and fabulous views. The perfect night out in Sweden.

Serviced and self-catered apartments, flats, holiday lets and aparthotels can be up to 30% cheaper than most equivalent hotel rooms and are becoming increasingly popular due to the freedom they offer. Whether it’s a short stay apartment you are looking for or a long term apartment, our holiday apartments combine all the amenities and comforts of home. With plenty of room why stay in a cramped hotel room when you can stay in spacious surroundings in and around Arsta city centre.
