Serviced Apartments in Rhodes

Rhodes is a Greek city and island in the extreme east of the country, towards mainland Turkey. The area is famous worldwide for being the home of the Colossus of Rhodes - one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, as well as many other historical locations and artefacts. Most visitors are looking for a holiday apartment in Rhodes to soak up some of this history, and also to enjoy the hot weather and seaside atmosphere.

Of course, the actual Colossus of Rhodes is no longer to be seen; it was destroyed in 224 BC by a massive earthquake. However, those staying in Rhodes holiday rentals still have access to an abundance of ancient ruins. The Acropolis of Rhodes dates to the same period as the Colossus, and includes the Temple of Apollo and a bowl like theatre. This is a great trip to take for anyone with an interest in ancient history, with plenty of exhibitions and information on display.

Rhodes also has a beautiful harbour which is the ideal location to walk around, soaking up the atmosphere, before having a bite to eat in one of the seafront restaurants and tavernas. If your feet get a little tired Rhodes has a very good bus service as well as plenty of taxis to hail. When planning your day in your Rhodes holiday letting, be sure to include the Windmills of Rhodes, a number of unusual brick structures by the waterfront; and certainly not having conventional windmill design.

A UNESCO designated World Heritage Site, the mediaeval city centre (or citadel) is also a must see destination during your holiday. This area has a wonderful selection of ancient buildings and monuments and really does feel like another era entirely. Small markets and stalls are found throughout the city centre; excellent for snacks on the go and picking up little souvenirs to take back home. Serviced accommodation in Rhodes tends to be outside of the Old City, but will be close enough to reach this area on foot.

Another excellent attraction is the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes; a 14th century castle-like building, built by the previous occupiers of the city. The Palace is very close to Rhodes city centre (center) apartments and can be reached comfortably by foot. Walking around this grand construction, you really will get a feel for the history of the city, with its huge main entrance and impressive brick work.

Serviced and self-catered apartments, flats, holiday lets and aparthotels can be up to 30% cheaper than most equivalent hotel rooms and are becoming increasingly popular due to the freedom they offer. Whether it’s a short stay apartment you are looking for or a long term apartment, our holiday apartments combine all the amenities and comforts of home. With plenty of room why stay in a cramped hotel room when you can stay in spacious surroundings in and around Rhodes.
