Serviced Apartments in Nîmes

Nîmes is about 50 kilometres north of the Mediterranean coast, in the south of France. As with many cities in the south of France, Nîmes benefits from a successful tourism industry and is popular with tourists from all over Europe. Infrastructure and amenities are good, and there are plenty of Nimes holiday apartments to base your stay in.

Nimes has been strongly influenced by the Roman Empire and this can be seen in some of the most famous landmarks of the city. Around 2000 years old, the Roman amphitheatre is the most well preserved Roman arena in France. It is still used today for music concerts and even bullfighting sometimes. If you are staying in a Nimes serviced apartment, you certainly cannot miss out on the amphitheatre, the most brilliant sight in town.

Another Roman location to visit is a small Roman temple called the Maison Carrée (Square House), or if you are looking for something more recent, try the city cathedral; built in a largely Romanesque style with Gothic touches. Nimes city centre (center) apartments also get you close to the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nîmes, a famous Museum of fine arts which houses a brilliant collection of Roman antiquities as well as works by international and local artists.

As for days out from your Nimes serviced accommodation, trips to Marseille and Montpellier are made comfortably within a couple of hours, as well as a whole host of other towns and villages along the Mediterranean coast. Going inland, the Cévennes National Park is to the north and is famous for its mountains and plateaus as well as the Aven Armand cave.

If you're looking for a lazy afternoon away from your Nimes holiday letting, there is no better way to spend some time than in some of the numerous squares in the town. This is where you will find some of the best cafes, bars and restaurants for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Many of these quaint little squares are found in the oldest part of the city such as the Place de la Maison-Carrée and Place aux Herbes. Some lovely, reasonably priced restaurants and brasseries are found on the boulevard de la Libération.

Given the somewhat quiet and understated nature of the Old Town, it is often a great pleasure to simply walk through the narrow lanes chancing upon fountains and small monuments. Nimes will not overwhelm you, but it probably will leave you ready to book a serviced residence in Nimes again next year!

Serviced and self-catered apartments, flats, holiday lets and aparthotels can be up to 30% cheaper than most equivalent hotel rooms and are becoming increasingly popular due to the freedom they offer. Whether it’s a short stay apartment you are looking for or a long term apartment, our holiday apartments combine all the amenities and comforts of home.  With plenty of room why stay in a cramped hotel room when you can stay in spacious surroundings in and around the Nimes city centre.
