Serviced Apartments in Brno

Brno is the second largest town in the Czech Republic and is the capital of the state of Moravia. When you stay in a Brno holiday rental you will have a great chance to enjoy the architecture of this part of the world as well as some stunning scenery, with mountains in the background on three sides and rivers and Brno Dam Lake on the other side. The town has two castles and a cathedral so even if you are a dedicated architecture watcher, there will be plenty to see whilst staying in a Brno serviced apartment.

The forested slopes of the Moravian foothills are wonderful for hiking and gentle walking, according to taste. The forests come right to the edge of town so it is unlikely you would have to go far to reach them, even if your rental is a Brno city centre (center) apartment. Depending on the date of your Brno holiday let, you may coincide with one of the events in the town, for example the spectacular Ignis Brunensis, an international competition of firework displays which takes place in June. Quieter, but just as good is the Slavnosti Vina, the wine festival which takes place in September. Whilst visiting Brno serviced flats, it is not essential to arrive when an event is taking place, as there is so much to see in the way of fabulous buildings and museums.

Even the most patriotic Czech would claim that their food is wonderful, but it is certainly filling, being based on pork and potatoes. Perhaps you should make sure you have a bigger size of clothes stashed away in your Brno apartment rental for when your waist expands during your stay. The local beer is non-alcoholic, so that won’t affect your waistline quite so much and is a good gift to take back with you after your holiday in a Brno aparthotel.

Brno has many famous sons and the composer Leos Janacek is one and the town has a conservatoire of music and also an annual musical competition named after him. Whilst enjoying your Brno holiday apartment you must be sure to attend one of the concerts given at the college, because the quality of the music is superb. Scientists would be fascinated to visit the Mendel museum of genetics, especially with the huge leaps in the technology of fingerprinting and the work which continues into the human genome. Where better to learn more than in the home town of genetics’ discoverer, Gregor Mendel.
